My PT overheated Friday morning. Replaced rad cap and radiator and everything seemed to be running find. I drove back to my house an hour away and gauge went up to red as I was pulling in. Any ideas?
Check the radiator to be sure all the water didn't drain back out.... Did you find out what caused the initial problem when it overheated?
Possibly thermostat. There's a chance that after you replaced the radiator cap you didn't drive it long enough where the engine tried to open the thermostat, so you got a false reading about the cap replacement
Ok thanks. I'll replace thermostat tomorrow and see if that works
