Timing Belt

2005 Turbo GT Convertible.  Interference or non-interference?  It was traveling at
highway speeds when it broke.  The shop where I towed it does not have the ability to
check the compression on the cylinders.  Or maybe he just doesn't want to do it.  He
says without even opening the hood that the valves are bent.  Should I A) tow it to
another shop 40 miles away or B) tell him I want him to replace the timing belt and
hope or C) his recommendation is to scrap the car and buy something else.

The 2.4 is NOT an interference engine so replacing the timing belt should correct your problem, just make sure you replace the pump and idlers while your there. But judging by his reluctance to even do a compression check, I would opt for taking it to another shop.
