So many codes!

Asked by Mar 31, 2016 at 03:11 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased an 04 PT Cruiser GT 2 days ago and everything was fine
until this morning! My check engine light came on so I went to O'Reilly's
and had an engine diagnostic test done to it. 21 codes showed up! 12, 16,
18, 33, 36, 37, 39, 40, P1684, P0562, P0441, P0344, P0340. I've looked up
the codes that start w P and it looks like the camshaft sensory is one of the
problems. However, i cannot seem to find a key for the 2 digit codes! I also
noticed an engine chug when I use the gas excessively.

Not sure why you have 2 digit codes, those are OBDI, pre year '96. Sounds like you got duped on the sale.
