Headlamps and interior lamps flicker, very noticable in the dark. what is the problem?

I have had no electrical problems with this vehicle.

Sounds like you have a problem with your voltage regulator. Dependent on how your system is setup, your voltage regulator could be within the alternator itself or within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Also check the state of charge of the battery.
