What are the symptoms of a bad range sensor

Asked by Oct 15, 2016 at 09:56 PM about the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My backup lights do not work.  When you shift into REV, 1, 2, 3,  you have to
rev the engine just a little and it starts to drive or back up depending on your
selection.  Then without doing anything else it will cycle from Reverse to
Neutral, and do this continuously.  Yes I have the right transmission fluid, and
yes it is full.  Is this a range sensor problem?
