my neighbor always needs a jump. Will it damage my battery ?

Yes plus it can damage other electrical componets, like the alternator on your rig, newer vehicles just should not be used to jump another vehicle, with all the electronics any kind of voltage surge can wreak havoc with them, tell him no more jumping, he needs to fix his vehicle.


Maybe you should suggest that your neighbor buy a self contained jump starter.
