I followed the diagrams but I still cannot find the inertia switch. Can anyone tell me where to locate it?

I hit a large pothole and my engine just died. Several mechanics said it is probably the inertia switch. Can someone please tell me where to locate the switch?

Look in the trunk on the left side - behind or under the rug.
