driving in OD my 1992 Explorer shakes like a paint shaker can anyone explain.
drop it into drive and it stops, can anyone explain. Replaced the transmission with a
remanufactured one and the same thing is going on.
did you use a new tourk converter or the one out of your old tranny, eather way it sounds like it is bad.also check the rubber on the tranny mount,it could be tore into.
It is a new torque converter and after double checking the rubber on the tranny mount it is not torn.
ok,was the fly wheel checked for cracks, are the u-joints in driveshaft ok.if doing it only in od,it is my opinion it is in the tranny.
KAB-31,did some checking around today, your lockout in the tourk converter is bad,new parts are bad when installed,it is the only thing to cause your problem.tranny will have to come back out, replace the TC,also remove flywheel, just 5 bolts pull off, have it reserviced, most all of NAPA stores have a machine shop and can do this in 10 minutes.the TC should be replaced for free if just bought.dont buy from advance auto or auto zone.go with NAPA on this, the TC.
