I have a 2006 Prius that is unreliable when it rains. By that I mean most of the time it runs fine, but 3 times now after I start driving in the rain for about 5 min, the Caution, anti-skid and tire lights comes on. The car will keep running, but if I Stop and shut it off, it will not start , all the dash lights come on and the car will not start or go into Drive. After the rain stops and dries out for 2 days, it starts like nothing happened.
Definitely an electrical problem. Sounds like the wiring for the ABS is getting wet and shorting out. Check the wiring harnesses going to the front wheels first. They're more prone to wear because they're always flexing and moving as you turn the steering wheel. As for the not restarting problem I suspect that once you find and repair the wiring problem it will go away. HTH. -Jim
