Car revving by iteselff Already had new IAC valve & throttle sensor replaced
2005 Taurus 125K miles. Originally happened in February (cold outside). Engine revving high while driving in the neighborhood (30 mph or less). Pulled over and turned off car. When I started the car again, engine was revving very high again. Didn't attempt to drive. Had it towed to mechanic. He replaced the Idle air control valve and Throttle sensor. Problem recurred several weeks later Had it towed again. Mechanic made some adjustment (???) Problem happened again. Mechanic ran the car in his shop and didn't observe it happen so he didn't do anything. Took car home. Problem happen again today - 6 months later still having problem - though not revving as high as it was originally. Taking to mechanic again. What might I expect it to be, if not the same problem? Thank you!
