Plugs an wires

Asked by Oct 08, 2016 at 01:42 PM about the 2004 Ford Taurus SES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The code P0302 on my 2000 Ford Taurus
said the cylinder number two had too
many misfires. I replaced the plugs and
wires. Reset the computer by
disconnecting the negative terminal for 15
minutes. Now it won't even turn over
anymore. What did I do wrong?

Check for a blown main engine fuse in fuse box under the hood.

But the interior lights and everything else comes on. It just clicks when I turn it over. Could it still be the fuse?

Reset the security system. When battery power is lost the default setting is for the security system to go active. More information can be found in your owners manual.

Security system reset. No difference. Still just clicks when I turn it over

If starter just clicks try tapping on starter with a hammer while someone else tries starting vehicle if vehicle starts replace starter.

If it makes just one loud click then the starter is most likely bad, but id it is making a series of small rapid clicks then it could be a bad or low battery,, badly corroded cables or connections.
