2004 ford Taurus SE. What is this part?

What is the part that is connected to the upper radiator hose coming out of
the Radiator? it has a smaller hose on top just like the upper radiator hose,
but have no idea what part it is....Its really hard to really detail about the part
since Im not very good with car engines and such

Coolant bypass hose, it runs to the top of the water pump. Post a pic so we can be sure?

This is coming out of the Upper radiator hose.

This is a smaller hose that attaches to the unknown part
