Water pump and timing change
as im not sure about a 2002 ford taurus, most cars from my experience, have the waterpump on the fan belt, not the timing belt or chain. the timing belt is usually further on the engine block. (mostly). you should be able to replace the pump and belts and maybe pullies all at once. might want to look at the thermostat as well. youtube probably has DIY video walkthrough of the process time and tools
You have a 3.0l Taurus, correct? these motors have a timing chain, so you do not need to change the chain unless there is a considerable amount of slop. You should be able to change the water pump without the need to change the chain.
Thanks! I was wondering because my last car was a Mazda 96 626 and my water pump was connected to timing belt so when we did water pump we had to set timing belt
This is typical of cars with timing belts... anyhow, good luck.
