I have a 2002 Ford Taurus and the radio and climate control panel does not
work.  It blows hot air through the defrost but can not control any settings.

Check for a broken vacuum supply, on this model everything is controlled by vacuum. You can find the main supply line under the hood it will be a fairly large vacuum line that goes through the front bulkhead.
