Battery keeps dying
I have a 2002 ford taurus and something keeps
killing my battery so i put another battery in and my
battery light keeps going on and off..yesterday it
completely shut down and i had someone to give
me a jump it started rite back up.so os the battery
indicator light suppose to be on or off
check out ericthecarguy.com on how to find a parasitic battery draw, great video.
The battery light is supposed to be off if it is on that means something is wrong with the charging system most likely cause alternator is not charging.
Check the alternator voltage. Do this with a volt meter connected to the battery terminals with engine running. The voltage should be in the 13.8 to 14.6 range. If it is much lower than 13.8 there is a problem with the alternator or associated wiring.
