You need to start from the beginning. 1) is the battery OK, does it have 12 volts? 2) are you getting power to the starter? 3) Did you check the fuses in the car? 4) Do you have the check engine light come on, if so did you have the codes read? 5) Do you have gas in the car? 6) Did you check for spark?

thank you for responding. i have checked everything you suggested. everything is ok but there is no spark. there is also a 'security' light on the dash that has not been on before. could it be something in the security system? how can i bypass this??

you cant' bypass, if you Sit in vehicle with all doors closed, hit unlock switch on door,Take 1 key and turn to the on position, not start, and let sit for at least 3 seconds. Remove key. if you have a second key, take 2nd key and turn to the on position for at least 3 seconds, then remove key, wait 10 seconds and then try starting car. If the car will still not start, you will need to have the vehicle towed to the dealer so they can reset and check the anti theft system for probelms.

Is there an auto fuel cut off ? My 96' has one in the back right side panel that is removable. There is a reset there for it also.

Power to everything and no crank what so ever? Check wiring to starter. Sounds like they rusted and fell off.
