2002 ford focus stalling
I have a 2002 ford focus starts fine but idles funny and while driving it as soon as it gets up to temp it wants to stall at stops and sometimes does.. I go to restart it and it won't start I have to literally put one foot on the gas one on the brake and rev the engine then go quickly to keep it running.. I've already put $1,300 into this to fix it and still not fixed! I replaced the mass air flow sensor, plugs and wires, air filter, and ignition switch still stalling please help need answers I'm tired of putting money into this car...
Helllo, Best quick check: A Vacuum gauge connected, if you have erratic needle movement rather than steady 16 to 18" of vacuum, its a EGR problem or burned cylinder valve...the Intake...a burnt exhaust would cause severe backfire under load, but not at idle...likewise, a worn cam lobe will do the same. My best guess is the EGR system. Hope this Helps, AskTrannyman
