Asked by Jul 02, 2015 at 05:53 PM about the 2005 Ford Five Hundred SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had this car purchased for me because I
had no other choice. It drives very smooth
and everything seems okay, but the gear
will not shift from first. The car look like it
was in a rebuilt from a past accident.

Could be many things especially if rebuild wrong from wreck. Check transmission fluid. Look to see if wires are plugged in to transmission.

Theres no dipstick, ive looked everywhere!! And i dont really see any wires. I think i might try to just get rid of it while i can

The dip stick for tranny fluid is at the middle front clear at the bottom right behind the fan look all the way down to the ground you will see it.
