i have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird need some information concerning the remote key pad located on the driver's door

I need information to try and locate (a remote keyless ) key pad replacement for the driver's door on my 1993 Thunderbird. Also any information about how to check out or test the old key pad to see if it is okay or repairable ?  Is the key pad supposed to light up so that you can see the numbers to punch to unlock the car ? My key pad does not light up, but the hole where the key lock is located does light up, just not the key pad its self. Any information would be greatly appreciated ,thank you. Les

I put that in a window separate to make it easy to hyperlink. You just have to search for the right one. And I can tell you I had a 1990 Lincoln that did not light. Good Luck
