idles wont pick up rpms

car starts , idles fine when you step on the pedal rpm goes up a little if you prmp the pedal you might get it  up to 3000 rpm when you try to drive it you might get it up to 20 mph. fuel pump changed still the same. cap , rotor replaced. noticed the metal line from exhaust manifold to the egr valve broken. this ar ran fine this happened all at once its a 93 5.0 ho

As long as it idles perfect then it shouldnt be a vaccum leak. A clogged catalytic converter can cause a symptom like you are describing. Had a jeep that owner claimed couldnt drive anywhere. Stomp on the gas and it wont go over 2500 rpm and the motor sounds like its heaving. Was able to baby the throttle and drive under that rpm. The more gas = more bogging.

Is this the v8 or 6 cyl? It could be the TPS. This controls the trottle plate in the throttle body.
