not accelerating

hi. my explorer wanted to give out on me last night
and start not accelerating. will go in gear and rev
up but wont go anywhere. i hear a clicking noise
every now and then when it idles,check engine is
on. any help?

Probably needs a transmission.. check the fluid and see if u got metal in the pan
