2006 eddie bauer ford explorer extreme loss of engine power

Asked by Orlando_2649 Mar 02, 2017 at 04:18 AM about the 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 4WD

Question type: General

I just got this 2006 eddie bauer ford explorer and it
has barely any driving power. It has no acceleration
even if you step on it, it just boggs down. I had a
tester hooked up an it said bank 1 bank to running
to lean an to rich. They suggested a mass air flow
sensor. I changed it and nothing. Another
mechanic took a look an said i have plugs
missfireing, so i got plugs and wires, did nothing.
So i was then told its my ignition coil so, i got that
to and like everything elce so far, did nothing. Ive
spent to much so far on parts that havnt fixed my
problem. Anyone know what this is or had problem
like it pls help me out.

All what you replaced probably took care of one of the problems. I suspect you have a fuel pressure issue. Should have the fuel pressure checked, I am suspecting the fuel regulator. You can tell if you have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the fuel line, and rev the engine up. The fuel pressure should stay, not drop. Another test then is to pull the vacuum line off the fuel regulator when it is running. The fuel pressure gauge should show an increase of fuel pressure by 5 to 7 lbs. So if none of these conditions check out it would be the fuel pressure regulator.
