My 2003 Explorer will not move when engaged in Drive or Reverse
I was driving along the high and noticed that the car jerks when changing from one gear to another. it eventually will not move when engaged in Drive or Reverse. Had to push it out of the Highway
check for a broken transmission coolant line...top off the transmission fluid to the line, parking brake set, in park...make sure it's at the proper level...look for red drips along the line~ possibly replace the leakin' line~?
there aren't any sign of leaking coolant... no dipstick to check gear coolant...
must be a CVT transmission~ oops ---pray, these sure are difficult~ you probably will have to see an expert to service there...there is a "belt" ...not the most reliable design...have one myself on my MINI cooper...tho the CVT when part of the system as the toyota prius does....the stresses seem to be shared by the electric drive to....so really have nothing to help you~ quite sorry~
drips would have been a special sauce...and would have been GREEN and expensive too~!
