I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT V6 with a manual transmission, which the Slave Cylinder has finally went out. Unfortunately Ford has dicontinued the part, 1L2Z7A508AA. I searched all over for it!
Can't find this part anywhere. It has 3 holes to mount to the chassis and only 1 hose
coming out, but I'm only able to find them with 2 holes for mounting and 2 hoses.
Have you tried a wrecking yard? Having a part number will help.
Thank you, yes I included the part number above. Im a little afraid of getting the part at the junk yard, because it's located within the transmission. If it doesn't work we would have to drop the transmission again. Thanks again!
Then try a transmission rebuilders shop.
OK, thanks again. Fortunately, I'm able to get it rebuilt at Clutches Unlimited in Mid City, Orange County.
Lucky you, normally you have to do some retro fit work to make a later model fit.
