2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a whine in the rear diff. Had it rebuilt. Still has annoying whine. Good mechanic but he can't figure it out. Not bearing noise. Both replaced. Any suggestions or a fix?

Bearings don't whine - they rumble. Gears whine. Either the Pinion is too deep or too shallow. Not bearings - gears.
