My 2002 ford exploere is stuck on 4x4 low, how do I reset it

My explorer is stuck on 4x4 low and I can't seem to take it off, any tips?

Try tapping on the transfer case motor while someone pushes the button to 2 wheel drive, the motors are a common failure on these.

Put in neutral while running, feet on clutch and brake turn to 4high then 2whl.
