Will factory rims from a 2005 Ford
Explorer fit on a 2001 Ford Explorer?

Ones that are the same size. Look at your tire size for the wheel diameter. The last number in the tire size is the diameter (245-50-R16 is a 16 inch wheel). If the wheels you are considering swapping to are factory wheels, they will most likely fit either vehicle. An internet check can confirm the original sizes used for those two years.
