2004 Ford Expedition - Vacuum Lines?

So no air from the main front vents. I've looked on here and other sites trying
to track down the culprit. All vac lines "look" good. I have no way to test
vacuum. I did find one oddity - pictured. I can't seem to find anywhere that this
line would go - no open plugs or hanging hoses. Is this supposed to look like
this or does the hose go somewhere? It's gotta go somewhere - it can't be a
drain or the infamous "extra hose." I greatly appreciate any help you can
provide. Have a great weekend.

Nevermind. BUT - if you have a 2004 Expedition (or others I suppose), I found the problem. Of course, it wasn't behind or even near the battery/box like most people have talked about. I followed one of the vac lines over just past the throttle body. Sure enough - there was a broken elbow. Replaced that (and the 1/4 piece to the left of it for fun) and the vents work perfectly. I hope this helps someone out.

I have a 2004 Expedition 4x4 also except mine is an XLT and while replacing my valve cover gasket I found the same tiny hose connected to nothing and I don’t remember undoing any hoses that small so I was wondering if maybe that’s the breather tube for the front differential
