Is there anything I need to be aware of before purchasing a 2006 Ford Escape XLT?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm about to purchase a used 2006 Ford Escape XLT, with 86,551 miles. Is there anything
I should specifically ask the dealership? Besides info on tires and brakes? (I've not had
an SUV, or even a ford, before.)  Thank you!  (I know it's 3.0L V6 AWD, but not sure if it's
a XLT SUV or SPORT SUV)

Make sure to ask how many owners before you and have any minor or major work have been done to vehicle.

Ok, thank you for your help! 2 owners, no major work that I can see on Carfax. I've heard it said the better you care for your car, that 200,000 miles is usually when things start to break down... Is this myth or fact?
