http://www.edmunds.com/ford/escape/2006/consumer-reviews.html ..has professional reviews and problems/potential problems ans owners comments
From what ive seen. Major problems no. Ive only seen one that had low compression on cyl. number 3 and we put a cylinder head on it. Other than that the motor and transmission are solid. Things they are known for are the abs tone rings break causing abs light, easy fix. Left hand axle seals are bad to leak and there is a tsb for a new bushing, seal and axle, aslo an easy fix. People come in with check engine lights alot minor sensor issues here and there. Overall a great vehicle I would defiantly own one after working on fords day in and day out and seeing minimal problems with that model.
Thanks for your advice
Passenger side shock towers rusting out seems to be a big problem.
Hi, The Escape have a bad rep on Carcomplaints.com for Transmission issues. Any feedback on that? Thanks
