Usually the trans should shift into OD around 40-50mph with a lighter throttle. You can't lower the shift points. If the trans won't shift till after 50mph, your trans might be the issue. When was the fluid since changed? Level? Miles on your Escape?

Thanks Tom, the Escape is my wife's ride and has only 14,200 mi. Fluid level ok, and has not been changed. Wayne

My Overdrive off light blinks constantly. And the car does not go into the gas saving mode (4th gear). What is the problem? It runs good otherwise.
