I have a 02 ford escape awd and after like 25 m ph my rear starts roaring like a bad wheel bearing checked all wheel bearings and are fine idk what to do next maybe replace fluid in rear end???? Not s
The ford escapes are bad for the rear diffs going bad so if you end up replacing it make sure you get a used one with really low mileage
Yes, before you replace, try new gear oil. Is it leaking? Low on oil? Was it ever changed? I changed mine to synthetic oil at 60K and it was a tad quieter. But it was a constant roar. Yours is specific to speed. Have it diagnosed before replacing.
A bit late but check your tires. A "feathered" (google it) rear tire or tires will also make a roaring sound.
