2002 ford cargo van automatic transmission v-6. it wont stay in drive

my 2002 ford cargo van automatic transmission v-6. it wont stay in drive it whines while in drive while in gear and I can drive about 3 minute then it acts like its in neutral and whines but all the other gears work what could be the problem please help I keep getting the run around

First check the fluid level, it must be full no more no less, if the level is correct ten it is either one of the solenoids inside the trans is going bad or the computer is sending incorrect signals due to an incorrect switch reading or a faulty processor. Hope this helped.
