Crown victoria rear window switches only go down
I replaced the master switch on the drivers side which, I was told, would fix the problem.
right after I did this the rear window passengers switch did roll up half way then freeze.
now it doesnt work just like before I replaced the master switch...is the new part defective
or is there another place to look for the problem?
Usually a shot of electrical contact cleaner is all you need.
Try the main door switch, clean connections, check loose wires in the door or under the dash. Fuses do corrode changing these is cheaper. Check for child safety lock on the door they only roll halfway there is a lock switch on the driver's door switch it back and forth trying the window each time. If these things don't work check relays under hood and dash. There are fuses under the hood located in a black encased rectangular box as well.
Thnx I'll try electrical contact cleaner and spray into those multi pin connectors. Maybe take the rear door switches apart to. I doubt its fuses as the problem was there before I replaced the main switch and it worked for a moment before stopping again. Might be a bad board on the new main switch part too?
