How can you tell if a head gasket is blown or it's a cracked head
This car has 21k miles and has never over heated, just has all the classic
signs of head gasket issues
Perform a cylinder pressure and or leak down test. Check youtube on how to do it. You can rent the gauge at your local auto parts store.
A quick modern way is to "sniff" the coolant for combustion by products CO..with a gas analyzer (hand held) common tool in a decent shop.. 10 minutes, Done.
yes and no.....are you loosing water/oil/or compression?? just pull the heads and do it right,,
Heads then need to be magna-fluxed to check for cracks.
