I'm having a problem with my rear defroster. Despite trying to reglue the wires back on the window the special electrical contact glue doesn't hold.
Ford twice has tried to repair. The glue doesn't hold. I was told I need to replace the
glass. The glass is sewed into the convertible top & the only why to replace the glass is to replace the whole convertible top.
Are they using a rear window defogger repair kit? This kit has conductive adhesive to make the repair. Ordinary glue won't work because it won't conduct electricity to the grid on the window. HTH. -Jim
Yes. They are using the glue that Ford recommends to repair. The problem is the glue is not holding to the glass. It has been repaired twice but not staying on.
They need to clean the glass very well, preferably with rubbing alcohol, to get a good "sticking" surface. HTH. -Jim
