A4wd, does that mean automatic 4wd or all the time 4wd

Asked by Apr 18, 2010 at 09:01 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT LS 4WD SUV

Question type: General

I leave my trailblazer in A4wd all the time, am I driving in all-the-time 4wd by doing this or by doing this it only engages in 4wd when there is wheel spinning going on?  Note: it is a 2005 model not a 2006

...and using A4wd too often will wear out the transfer case switch. I am learning about this as my switch is wearing out and needs replacing.
