Won't stay crunk

My 2004 Chevy trailblazer  wont stay crunk I just
replaced the battery and once I crunk it. It was
running good  then I turned the air off  and the
truck cut off  now I have to keep hitting the gas to
crank it  and while driving when you stop it cuts
off. What is the problem

Sounds like a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. HTH. -Jim
