2005 Duramax losing coolant... no apparent reasons...
About a month ago my duramax started losing coolant, check radiator, water pump area and all hoses... can't find the leak. I also checked for traces of coolant in the oil.. evidence of a blown head gasket, but no success. I am running out of ideas.. losing between a liter to two liters of coolant a week...
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
happened to me.. its was my water pump.
2004 duramax me too! mechanical water pump located under steering axle by firewall almost under gas pedal took me a while to find it, I first thought it was my ac dripping.
This model year is notorious with coolant leaks. Its the heads of your truck. If it has a blown gasket, it will leak coolant. Just read it in Diesel Power Magazine last month. They did an article about it.
