2004 hd, changed fuel filter pumped and bleed several times. won't start. now it will only crank a few seconds then stops on its own
changed fuel filter and bleed air off. rails full of fuel. will not start. now can't hear fuel pump kick on when you turn key on and it will only crank a few seconds before stopping
you might have a bad fuel pump or pump relay
Assuming this is a duramax (you said you pumped and bled it: as only the diesel have this feature), they dont have a lift pump, only the high pressure pump. As long as you have all the air out of the filter housing, keep cranking it and it will start. If it doesnt, you have other major problems...
Try spraying WD40 in the air breather lightly and see if it fires and runs. May have to do this to bleed through injectors.
If I read the original post correctly, he stated that the truck only cranks for a few seconds then stops. WD40 or bleeding the fuel system isnt going to help if the starter isnt cranking the engine over.
It could be an air leak,
dad batteries and posible bad injectors
