Bleeding the coolant system

Asked by Oct 11, 2014 at 07:06 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Base Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was told to bleed the coolant system, but I am unable to find the bleeder valve. Not even
sure just what I am looking for. Thank you.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5907814_air-radiator-after-changing-antifreeze.html Short answer, run engine with radiator cap off and heater on full, add coolant and distilled water or 50/50 pre-mix as necessary, put cap on, run a little more. Allow to cool, pop cap and add again. Repeat as many times as necessary until radiator is full to top. Plastic reservoir should be about 1/4 full cold, there are marking lines on it also

I doubt it has one. did you drain the old coolant out? why would you need to bleed the air out unless you did?
