Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I drove to work this morning and home
with no problem it has however, when I get
almost to work or almost home in the
evening about 20 miles it shifts hard kinda
like posi trac, no gap between gears just
grabs and goes.

So today after work I hooked up the
gooseneck (empty) went and picked up my
lawnmower. when I went to leave the shop I
pulled out onto the road and it did not want
to go, kinda bogged down a little.

It would not go over 27 and took forever to
get there but if I pused the accelerator to
the floor it would make a loud poping noise
under the hood. It would rev just fine but
bog when in hear and the rpm would jump
around a little.

Im 90% sure its the transmission, but what
would cause it to do that??

2001 Chevy Silverado HD
4L80E transmission

I appreciate any advice that could save me
a few bucks. Becuase the tranny is about
$1800.

The check engine light also came on. Also a few hours later I unhooked the trailer and started it and it moved just fine. But with check engine light still on.
