2006 silverado 4.3L. The cooling fans turn on as soon as I start the truck and never turn off untilmI turn the engine off. Replaced the relay, no luck.
If the a/c is set on "max" it's normal. HTH. -Jim
Made sure a/c was off. Started truck and 15 seconds later the fans started with a cold engine.
Unplug the coolant temp sensor then start it. This will trigger the check engine light but don't worry about that. Do the fans still start immediately? HTH. -Jim
I unplugged the sensor. Made sure the a/c was off. The fans turn on after the truck was running for 10 seconds.
Ok, let's try this. Plug the sensor back in. Now unplug the fan relay(s). If there's more than one (there could be 3) unplug them one by one and the fans should stop. If not, there's a short in the wiring for the fans or someone has "hot wired" them to come on. HTH. -Jim
