I have a chevy silverado 1500 V8 5.3 and the oil pressure gauge stays on 80 when the truck is running all the time. What is wrong?
Most likely the oil pressure sender went haywire, you could just replace the sender and see if that fixes the problem or you could install a manual gauge to find out the actual oil pressure.
It takes a 1 1/16 deep socket to remove the sending unit. It is on the passenger side rear top of the engine. Remove the wire harness and then replace it. Cost will be between $15 to $48 depending where and the quality of the buy.
Thank you all for your help.
