2004 chevrolet z71 brake lights not working. all fuses, bulbs, brake switch and circuit plate under seat changed. still have no brake lights. can anyone help?
Tail lights work but not brake lights? change bulbs? check for voltage in bulb holder while brake pedal being pushed?
I had to run a wire from my brake switch to brake light bulb. Splice into white wire on brake switch. And run it to the blue wire behind brake bulb. This is a temporary fix.
Try changing out the Multi Function switch in the steering column.
christopher thank you for that temp fix it worked, the funny thing was i disconnected the wire after seeing it work. so i can run the wire in the truck under the seat, and i pushed the break and its now working without the bypass wire, but if it start doing that again i'll retook up the temp wire again permanently. thanks again.
Had the same problem with My z71 1500 Lt .found out the pigtail contacts were worn out and could not keep full connection..problem solved
Replace pigtails or just make them closer together
