I have 2003 Silverado. 4 months ago I replace the transmission with a remanufactured. it had high rpms on highways. Last week it started slipping.and won't go faster than 8 mph. Fluid smelt burnt.
Trany will have to come out. Possible problem with the pump located in the bell housing, front of the trany. Possible cause, should replace the torque converter when rebuilding a transmission, and or sounds like the torque converter was not installed properly. New torque converter has no oil in it so you should dump at least three quarts of trany oil into it. Also when installing the torque converter, once in place you should not be able to fit your fingers behind the converter and the bell housing. When installing the converter you need to spin and push it back to the bell housing..
Hope you got a warranty on it.
