what is the capacity of transmission fluid needed to change the fluid ?
http://www.silveradosierra.com/how-to-articles/how-to-change-the-transmission-filter-in-chevy-gmc-trucks-t902.html. Capacity of the trans is 14qts. , when dropping the pan and replacing the filter, you should drain out about 7-8qts. I read it could be as low as 4qt. So have that much handy. Add to within the cross hatching on the trans dipstick with teh engine warm and on a level surface and the vehicle in park.
best thing i always do to prevent over filling is to add 4 qts, start the truck ,let it run a minute or two. shut it off , check the fluid level and add more if you have to until it's full.
Just put in a transmission. How many quarts should i add, or show up with? Not sure if the torc converter is empty or not.
Well vehicle has to be running to check it if it's not running that's not a accurate reading at all must be running add let dipstick sit for a 5 cnt check it add if needed your tranny pan by alone holds 7 courts and half ton or 3/4 pick up
Any half ton or 3/4 ton
