How to fix standard window off track

Asked by Jan 25, 2017 at 03:40 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Short Bed 2WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Silverado 1500 has a hand crank window that came off track. How
do I fix this. I'm no mechanic. There are two metal wires just hanging loose,
and I know they should attach to something, I just don't know where. I bought
truck used, so I have no manual. Thanks!

Sounds like the window regulator is shot. Once the cables break, it's easier to replace the regulator. Around $50
