Engine hits but won't run

Asked by May 22, 2016 at 01:08 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 STD 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Car Customization

My friend changed engines from a 4.3 to a 5.7 in
his 92 Chevy four wheel drive, the problem is as
soon as it starts the injectors stop firing, can
anyone please help us with this problem. It's
driving us batty. People keep telling him the two
engines will run on the same system. I think it
needs the ecu for the5.7

Yes it needs all of the electronics from the 5.7 to make it run properly. Wiring harness, ECM etc.
