1999 Chevy 1500 5.3 oil pressure drop

Asked by Nov 26, 2013 at 08:23 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my engine starts to warm up (after driving it for 20+ miles) my oil pressure gauge
will drop to 0 once it idles again. if i kick up the RPMs it will go back up to high 20s which
is low as well. I've changed all the oil and filters, and am looking into the sending unit
soon. any suggestions or help?! Thanks

Do a manual gauge test to see what the actual oil pressure is, sending units do go bad so a manual gauge will tell you if you have a engine problem.
